Andy is CEO of Kompolt, www.kompolt.com, provider of high-service auction management for celebrities, broadcast media companies, consumer brands, and major non-profits. Andy was previously the VP Business Development of SPOKE!.

Andy was co-founder of Open Field Software, the developer of Ella (TM), an associative learning plug-in for Outlook that learns to recognize and prioritize your incoming emails. Andy was previously the first COO and later a Venture Partner at In-Q-Tel, the CIA venture capital firm, where his primary interest was investment in knowledge management systems. Prior to joining In-Q-Tel, he served as president and CEO of Contact Networks, the first venture-backed company to offer a networked contact management application at www.contact.com . While Excite@Home's e-commerce group VP and GM, Andy developed shopping.excite.com, one of the first product search portals aggregating merchandise from multiple online retailers. Andy was the founder and president of Simon Brand Ventures, the preferred vendor alliance organization he created at Simon Property Group (SPG:NYSE), the world's largest retail mall developer. Prior to joining Simon, Andy had a 13 year career in specialty retailing, and held group president and division president positions at EBS:NYSE, a 3500-store specialty retail company. His divisions included Dave & Buster's, Sacha London, Edison Brothers Entertainment, Time Out Family Amusement Centers, Race Rock International, and Horizon Entertainment. Between 1975 and 1981 he was a racing coach and the Director of Skiing at Canada's then-largest ski resort, Sunshine Village outside Banff, Alberta. He holds an MBA from Harvard and graduated AB, magna cum laude, in English Literature from Dartmouth College.

My professional interests surround the use of knowledge management systems, collaboration technologies, and social networks to improve the organization, relevance, and availability of human knowledge. My personal mission is to create the conditions in which learned human wisdom can be shared, and preserved for future generations.

In-Q-Tel Chief Operating Officer, and Venture Partner	2000 - 2003
First COO of In-Q-Tel, the innovative private venture firm allied with the CIA to invest in information technology for the intelligence community. I specialized in operational process design and management of the organization, including technical/engineering staff and solution transfer integration into the Agency. Primary interest in knowledge management and collaboration systems and technologies for application to the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information.
Contact Networks, Inc. CEO and President	1999 - 2000
Recruited to lead startup backed by Accel and Polaris, grew the company to 55 headcounts and the release of the first networking-enabled client contact manager, which received 5 stars from PC Magazine. Permissioned database architecture allowed for articulated exchange of messaging and information to and from multiple circles of relationships.
Excite VP GM ECommerce Group	1998 - 1999
Responsible for development of shopping.excite.com, a web-merchant aggregation platform with direct product search and promotional merchandising systems on the excite.com portal. Also responsible for Classifieds2000, Personals, Yellow Pages, Autos, and Home & Real Estate channels. One of 3 execs with P/L responsibility in the media group after the merger into Excite@Home.
Simon Property Group (SPG:NYSE) SVP Strategy, and President, Simon Brand Ventures	1995 - 1998
Launched Simon Brand Ventures, a key strategic business unit which did preferred alliance vendor agreements with VISA, Pepsi , BFI, and Americash.
Edison Brothers Stores, Inc. (EBS:NYSE) Group President, Edison Brothers Entertainment	1989 - 1995
Formed this new strategic business for EBS, Inc., a 3500 store shoe and apparel chain store retailer. Divisions included Dave & Busters (Nasdaq:DANB), Time Out Family Amusement Centers (Sega), Race Rock International (the shrine of Motorsports), and Horizon Entertainment (immersive VR systems)

Grew this London-based up-market shoe retailer/wholesaler from 13 to 23 stores, including new locations on Columbus Ave and Lexington Ave in NYC, Oak Street in Chicago, and San Francisco Center.
